The first person she shared the news with was Alex. He was genuinely happy for his wife and immediately told her that she had to accept such an incredible opportunity because she had worked so hard for it over the past several months.
Richard happened to overhear their conversation.
He did not say a single word for the rest of the evening, but the heavy look in his eyes spoke louder than any threat.
