In the morning on the airplane, the director called a security officer to have a female veteran removed, however at that very moment, what the officer did shocked everyone present.
The morning passenger flight was scheduled for 08:15. The passengers had already taken their seats, the flight attendants were preparing the safety briefing, and a usual buzz filled the cabin.
Some were talking on the phone, others were looking out the windows. No one could have imagined that the event that would happen a few minutes later would remain in the memory of everyone present for many years.
In one of the front rows sat a 67-year-old female veteran with the rank of colonel. During her years of service, she had participated in numerous military operations, saved the lives of dozens of soldiers, and once even shielded a wounded comrade with her own body during an artillery attack. On her left shoulder, the mark of an old injury was still visible, and on her hands were scars reminding of her difficult years of service.
Right next to her sat the director of a large company. This man was used to everyone fulfilling his wishes. When he noticed the veteran, his gaze stopped on her worn military jacket, which she was holding on her lap. The director did not like this.
— Such passengers do not belong in business class, he said loudly so that others could hear.
The woman did not respond.
The director continued:
— You were probably seated here by mistake. Go and find your seat.
The woman did not even react.
Such indifference made the man even angrier.
— Do you hear me?! — he was now shouting.
But the veteran remained silent again.
Suddenly, the director lost his self-control. He took the glass of red wine in front of him and poured its entire contents over the woman’s uniform.
Silence immediately filled the cabin.
People froze.
Some covered their mouths with their hands, others could not believe their eyes.
The woman slowly wiped the drops from her face and remained seated in her place.
At that moment, the director motioned to a security officer.
— Remove her from this airplane! — he shouted. — I refuse to fly with her.😨😨
The security officer approached, observed the situation for a few seconds, looked at the veteran’s soaked uniform, and then at the passengers’ faces.
Everyone expected him to follow the director’s order.

A murmur spread through the cabin.
Several passengers even started applauding.
The director tried to argue, threaten, and refer to his position, but it was already too late.
A few minutes later, he was escorted off the plane.

At that moment, a flight attendant approached Evelyn and brought her a clean blanket and a new jacket.

One of the passengers recognized the veteran and said that many years ago during a military operation, she had saved the life of an entire unit by staying under fire until the last soldier was evacuated.
As this story spread through the cabin, people one by one came to thank her.
