In Alexander’s house, everything looked perfect. A large modern mansion, expensive furniture, guards at the gate, and staff who kept track of every little detail. His wife Sophia had grown used to trusting her husband and never imagined that one of the women who was around her every day was hiding a terrible secret.
Twenty-nine-year-old Melissa had appeared in the house three months earlier. Alexander introduced her as a new specialist handling the interior design and helping oversee the renovation. Sophia calmly accepted her, having no idea that Melissa was actually her husband’s mistress.
To eight-year-old Lily, Melissa seemed kind at first. She brought her sweets, praised her drawings, and sometimes helped her put away her toys. But little by little, the girl began to notice strange things.
“Mom, why does Melissa always get angry when Dad talks to you?” Lily asked one day.
Sophia smiled and smoothed her daughter’s hair.
“You must have imagined it, sweetheart.”
But Lily wasn’t wrong.
Melissa had wanted to get rid of Sophia and her daughter for a long time. She knew Alexander loved his daughter, so she understood that ordinary quarrels wouldn’t be enough. She needed an act so bad that even he would believe Lily had become uncontrollable.

“Alexander, she was asleep. You saw her yourself last night!”
“Then explain to me why my ruined suit ended up here! You think a house spirit did it, is that it?”
Melissa appeared in the doorway and said cautiously:
“Maybe she really did do it. Sometimes children ruin things on purpose to get attention.”
“Be quiet!” Sophia snapped. “You know nothing about my daughter.”
Alexander gave his wife an icy look.
“Don’t you dare raise your voice in this house! And I’ll deal with Lily myself. She needs to learn to answer for her actions!”
“No, you will not touch my daughter!” Sophia said, upset and frightened.
“Then take your unbearable, badly-raised daughter and get out of this house!”
Sophia realized there was no point arguing now. She picked Lily up and took her upstairs to pack.
Twenty minutes later, Sophia and Lily left the house and got into a green sports car.

When Sophia and Lily had gone, three black cars appeared at the mansion’s gates. Her brothers’ men surrounded the house, blocking every exit. Alexander ran out to meet them, and found himself facing his three brothers-in-law.
“What do you want here?!”
The eldest brother silently laid a thick folder in front of him.
Inside were photographs of Alexander and Melissa, taken at hotels and restaurants, along with documents confirming their affair had been going on for months.
Alexander turned pale.
“Sophia… knew everything?”
“For a long time,” the brother answered. “But that’s not even the worst part.”
Bank statements landed on the table. It turned out that over the past few months, dozens of pointless purchases had been paid for from Sophia’s personal accounts: expensive jewelry, designer items, hotels, restaurants, and even gifts Alexander had secretly bought for Melissa.
“You spent her money on your mistress?” the second brother asked quietly.
Alexander couldn’t answer.
Melissa tried to defend herself, but the third brother cut her off:
“You lived in her house, spent her money, and smiled in her face every single day.”
