At her daughter’s wedding, her husband brought a young mistress and seated her in the place of the bride’s mother, but a sudden act by the groom’s father shocked everyone 🤯😱🫢
Laura had dreamed of this day for many years. After the divorce she raised her daughter Penelope alone, trying not to complain or talk about how hard it was for her. Now Penelope was marrying Daniel, and Laura hoped that at least on this day everything would be devoted to her daughter — her happiness and her new family.
Tristan, Laura’s current husband, behaved calmly at first. He promised not to make scenes and assured her that he wanted to support Penelope. Laura wanted to believe him, although she had long noticed how he hid his phone and came home late.
The ceremony took place in a large country venue. There were white flowers on the tables, the guests were smiling, and Penelope in her wedding dress looked happy. Laura was given a place of honor next to the groom’s family. She sat down and tried not to think about the anxiety that was squeezing her chest more and more.
Tristan disappeared shortly before the ceremony began. Laura decided that he had stepped out to answer a call, but soon the doors of the hall swung open. Her husband returned, leading a young woman in a bright dress by the arm.
— Tristan, what’s going on? — Laura asked quietly when he came up to the table.
He didn’t even look at her.
— Meet Corinne. She is my mistress, — he announced so loudly that the conversations around them immediately went silent.
The guests began to exchange glances. Penelope turned pale, but stayed beside the groom, not knowing how to stop what was happening. Corinne meanwhile took the seat meant for the bride’s mother.
— And you can move, — Tristan tossed at Laura. — Please, don’t make a scandal and don’t ruin the celebration.
Laura felt dozens of eyes fasten on her. She wanted to answer, to stand up and make him be quiet, but she saw her daughter’s face and was afraid that any sharp move would completely ruin her wedding. She was torn between her own pride and her love for her daughter.
— Mom, don’t, — Penelope begged barely audibly.
Laura swallowed her hurt and moved to the end of the table. Tristan smirked, as if he had already won. But when the ceremony continued and the host spoke the first words, the groom’s father, the influential businessman Charles Sterling, abruptly rose from his seat.
— Stop the ceremony, — he said.
Then Charles looked straight at Tristan and did something that shocked everyone at the ceremony. 😨

Charles walked quickly toward Tristan and sharply punched him in the face. The guests gasped, and Corinne jumped up from her chair.
— With your arrogance you ruined the celebration, — Charles said. — Laura doesn’t deserve such treatment. Especially after what she did for my family.
Tristan wiped the blood from his lips and tried to object, but Charles took a folded sheet from his pocket.
— I recognized Corinne. She works in my company, and she herself showed me the messages you sent her. You promised her money if she helped you make Laura look guilty for your divorce.
The hall fell silent. Laura looked at Corinne. She lowered her eyes and admitted that she had agreed to this plan, but hadn’t expected Tristan to humiliate Laura right at the wedding.
Charles explained: once, Laura had helped his daughter without asking for anything in return. He had learned her name and couldn’t calmly watch as they tried to deceive her again.
Penelope hugged her mother tightly. Tristan was asked to leave, and the ceremony continued after a short pause.
Laura no longer tried to hide her tears. But now they were tears of relief: at the hardest moment she saw that she was not left alone.
