Parents, abandoned by their children, continued to live in the forest, but what happened to them in the very first days shocked everyone.
They could never have imagined that the end of their lives would unfold this way. The children, for whom they had worked for years, who went hungry and sacrificed their own dreams, one day simply decided that their parents “got in the way” of their lives.

…From the tent came a thin, dirty dog. Its eyes were frightened, but at the same time pleading. For a moment, they just stood there, looking at the animal, as if recognizing their own story in it.

At night, the three of them sat by the fire. The wind whistled through the trees, but the chill of previous nights was gone. The woman held the dog in her arms, and the man stared at the fire — for the first time in a long while, he felt a little calm.
