She found out she was pregnant after five failed IVF attempts, but instead of joyful news, she received divorce papers β and a year later, her return with three children shocked everyone π¨π€―π±
For eleven years, Natalie had been certain that her marriage to Edward could withstand any trial. They had met before he became a famous billionaire, had lived through the difficult early years together, and had built a life many could only envy. The one thing they had always lacked was a child.
Over those years, Natalie had gone through IVF five times. Each time she hoped she would finally see those longed-for two lines, and each time the doctors brought her more bad news. But she didn’t give up, because Edward had once promised her they would definitely become parents.
That day, Natalie walked out of the clinic, clutching her test results. She read the report over several times, afraid to believe her own eyes.
She was finally pregnant. After five failed attempts, they truly had a chance to become parents.
“Edward will be so happy,” she told herself, smiling through tears. “I want to see his face when I tell him.”
But when the car pulled up to the gates of their mansion, Natalie’s smile vanished.
Right in front of the gates stood her large suitcase. On top of it lay a folder with documents.
Natalie got out of the car and slowly walked closer. She opened the folder and saw a divorce petition.
“What is this?…” she whispered.
None of the security staff tried to explain anything.
Natalie felt anger boiling up inside her. She had been Edward’s wife for eleven years, and now her belongings had simply been put out on the street, as if she were a stranger.
She grabbed the suitcase and walked into the house.
In the living room, Edward met her. But he wasn’t alone.
Beside him stood a young woman named Celine. She was holding his arm and looked completely calm. On the sofa sat Edward’s mother, Eleanor, watching Natalie with a cold smile.
“So you came after all,” Eleanor said calmly.
Natalie looked at her husband.
“What is the meaning of all this?”
“I wanted to avoid an unpleasant scene,” Edward replied.
“An unpleasant scene? After eleven years of marriage, you couldn’t even tell me about the divorce in person?”
Edward looked away.
“Our marriage stopped being real a long time ago.”
Celine gave a quiet smirk.
“Edward, I don’t think you need to justify yourself to her.”
Natalie looked at her, then back at her husband.
“So you’ve already replaced me?”
“It’s all already decided, Natalie.”
She clenched her fingers, trying not to show how much these words wounded her.
“Fine. I’ll sign the papers.”
Edward looked at her, surprised.
“That’s it?”
Natalie held her gaze on his face for a few seconds.
“That’s it.”
He frowned.
Natalie picked up the suitcase and headed for the door. She stopped, but didn’t turn around.
“Just remember this day. You’re the one who decided you no longer wanted to be part of my life.”
After that, she walked out of the mansion.
From that moment on, Edward never saw Natalie again and heard nothing about her. It was as though she had never existed in his life at all. But a year later, Edward happened to run into her again. And what he saw, and then learned, didn’t just shock him β it changed everything. Because Natalie had done something no one could have expected from her. π±

A year later, Edward attended a charity gala, and among the guests he suddenly saw Natalie. She looked completely different: confident, calm, and nothing at all like the woman who had left his house a year earlier.
Beside her stood a personal bodyguard, holding three four-month-old babies in his arms.
Edward couldn’t tear his eyes away from them.
“Natalieβ¦ are these your children?”
She looked at him calmly.
“Yes. Mine.”
“But how?… You couldn’t get pregnant.”
“The problem was never me. It was you.”
Edward went pale.
“So your IVF attempts weren’t in vain after all?”
Natalie shook her head.
“That doesn’t matter anymore.”
Natalie explained that after several failed IVF attempts, the doctors had offered her another option. She had agreed to a procedure using donor biomaterial, because she no longer wanted to spend years on treatment with no result.
But on the day she found out she was pregnant, she had been planning to tell Edward everything. She believed the child could save their family. And then she saw the suitcase at the gates, the divorce papers, and Celine beside her husband.
She didn’t bother explaining anything to Edward, and closed the door on the past for good.
“I don’t owe you anything anymore, Edward. You made your choice back then. Now I’ve made mine.”
Sometime later, Alexander appeared in Natalie’s life β a very wealthy and influential man with a dangerous reputation. But with her, he was completely different. He accepted Natalie along with her three children and surrounded them with care and protection.
“I don’t care who came before me. What matters to me is that you’re happy and safe now,” he told her.
Natalie married again, but this time to a man who truly valued her and loved her children.
And Edward remained in her past.
The most painful thing for him was realizing that the woman he had once so easily lost was now happy with someone else β and had no intention of ever coming back to him.
