A man decided not to throw away his old sofa, but to repair it for his home. However, when he saw what was inside the sofa, he froze in horror and was forced to call the police.
He went down to the basement to see what unnecessary items were there. The basement was filled with old boxes, broken objects, and forgotten belongings. The man began sorting everything: throwing some things away and setting others aside.
At that moment, in a dark corner, his gaze fell on an old, worn-out sofa that he had long forgotten about.
The sofa was in very poor condition: the upholstery was torn, the stuffing was coming out, and the wooden parts were cracked. At first, the man thought about simply carrying it out and throwing it away. But something stopped him.

Such a quantity could not have ended up in his sofa by accident.
The man was overwhelmed with panic. His hands were shaking, and his head was spinning. The only right thought that came to his mind was to call the police. He immediately called and, confused but honest, explained the situation.
Soon, the police arrived. They examined the sofa, the bundle, and the entire room. The man was questioned: where he got the sofa, how long he had had it, and whether he was connected to anyone. He explained that he had bought the sofa many years ago second-hand and had simply forgotten about it.
The investigators began to trace the chain. The packages found inside the sofa had special markings and codes which, as it turned out, were already known to law enforcement. They were linked to an old but unsolved case — a group involved in drug trafficking.
After a few days, it was discovered that the sofa had belonged many years ago to a man who had suddenly disappeared. His name had already appeared in suspicious cases, but no evidence had been found at the time. Apparently, he had used the sofa as a hiding place, believing that no one would ever look there.
The police reviewed old records, tracked his previous connections, and eventually found him — he was living in another city under a different name. When he was arrested, he initially denied everything. But when he was shown photos of the discovered packages and the codes, his silence spoke for itself.
During the investigation, the entire chain was uncovered: where the drugs came from, through whom they were distributed, and how they had been hidden in the sofa many years ago — intended for later transport, but ultimately forgotten or left inaccessible.
The man who discovered all this was completely cleared and even received thanks for his cooperation.
And the real owner of the drugs was sentenced to a long prison term — not only for this hiding place, but also for years of illegal activity.
After that, the man could not calmly sit on the same sofa for a long time — even after it was repaired. In the end, he decided to simply sell it, but this time only after carefully checking it from the inside, so that he would never face such a problem again.
