Twenty-two-year-old Hailey never thought that one day her own father would become the cause of her nightmare. After his wife’s death, Thomas Mitchell developed a gambling addiction. He lost all his savings, mortgaged the house, ran up enormous debts, and eventually ended up in the hands of one of the most powerful mafia families. Their head was Leonardo DeLuca, a man feared even by criminals.
When there was nothing left to pay with, Leonardo’s men came to see Thomas.
“You have no more money,” one of the men said calmly. “The house is mortgaged, you’ve already sold the car. But the debt still has to be paid off somehow. Since you have nothing left to pay with, we need to think of something else you can pay with.”
Documents were placed in front of him.
“With what?”
The man smirked and, without taking his eyes off him, answered:
“Maybe… your daughter?”
Those words didn’t sound like a proposal — they sounded like a direct threat.
Thomas turned pale.
“No… That’s impossible.”
“Either you sign now, or by tomorrow no one will find you at all.”
A few seconds later, with a trembling hand, Thomas signed.
That same evening, two black SUVs pulled up outside Hailey’s house. The men calmly knocked on the door. When the girl opened it, one of them looked her steadily in the eye and said, unbothered:
“Hello. From this moment, you belong to us.”
He held out the documents to her.
Hailey froze in complete confusion. She couldn’t even get a word out. When the girl tried to slam the door, the men forced her outside and shoved her into the car.
“Please, let me go!”
All three of them laughed.
“Too late. Your father already decided everything for you. Whether to thank him or blame him is up to you.”
The SUV quickly left the city and headed toward a remote forest.
“Please… let me go. I don’t know anything, and I won’t tell anyone anything.”
In response, one of the men grabbed her arm sharply. The girl instinctively elbowed him and tried to open the door.
“Why you…”
The car came to an abrupt stop. The men dragged her outside. Hailey took off running but only managed a few steps. One of them shoved her hard in the back. She lost her balance and hit the back of her head against a large rock with full force.
Dead silence fell.
“Damn… is she alive?”
One of the men crouched beside her and pressed his fingers to her neck.
“There’s barely a pulse…”
They exchanged glances.
“If Leonardo finds out we killed her, we’re dead men.”
The oldest of them slowly exhaled.
“Then he’ll never find out.”
They quickly dug a shallow pit, threw Hailey’s lifeless body into it, and covered it with earth, trying to hide every piece of evidence. Once finished, the men looked the place over one more time, got into their cars, and disappeared among the trees, confident their secret would remain forever beneath a layer of damp earth.
Nearby, a gardener named Oliver was working, tending a large plot of land next to the forest. On that rainy day, as he was finishing up, he noticed several suspicious cars stopped among the trees. From a distance, he saw several men hurriedly burying something, constantly glancing around. At the time, Oliver decided not to get involved, but an uneasy feeling wouldn’t leave him alone.
Once it had grown completely dark, he went back to that spot together with his huge wolf-like dog, Thor.
The dog suddenly caught a scent, stopped abruptly, and began furiously digging at the ground in the very spot where the strangers had disappeared a few hours earlier.
“What is it, Thor? What did you find?”
The dog growled louder and louder, desperately throwing the damp earth aside with his paws.

When Oliver, together with Thor, finally pulled the girl out from under the ground, he was certain he was too late. Her face was pale, her clothes soaked with rain and mud, and she was barely breathing.
“I’m sorry… I didn’t make it in time,” he whispered quietly.
But at that moment, Hailey’s eyelids trembled ever so slightly.
“She’s alive!” Oliver exclaimed.
He carefully wiped the dirt from her face, covered her with his jacket, and gave her a little water. A few minutes later, frightened Hailey finally began to calm down.
Oliver understood that going to the police was too dangerous. The men who had done this were connected to the most powerful mafia family in the city. So he decided to meet with Leonardo DeLuca in person.
When Leonardo heard the whole story, his face turned to stone.
“Who did this?”
“Your men,” Oliver answered calmly. “They decided to cover up their mistake because they were afraid of your anger.”
Leonardo was silent for a few seconds, then ordered his guards:
“Find them. All of them.”
By evening, the guilty men had already been brought back. Not one of them even tried to make excuses.
“I ordered the girl brought to me alive,” Leonardo said coldly. “And you decided to bury her alive instead.”
