It all started on a regular Saturday morning, when guests who had been away from the city for a long time came to their home.
Everything was cheerful and went on in the usual happy atmosphere, until the mother of the 9-year-old sisters decided to take one of her daughters and the guests on a city walk, leaving the other daughter at home and forcing her to clean until they returned.
— Mommy, can I come with you? — asked the girl with tears in her eyes.
— No, — replied the mother, — you can’t do anything at home anyway, and you don’t do your homework on time either. — she said, justifying that it would be a lesson for the child.
Then she took her other daughter and the guests and went for a walk, leaving the child alone at home to take care of household chores.

An hour later, the children’s father returned home from work and saw that one of the daughters was cleaning alone at home, while the others had gone out.
— Where is your sister and mom? — asked the father.
— They went out for a walk, — replied the girl, sobbing.
— And why didn’t they take you with them? — asked the father.
— Mom said it was a punishment for me, and I have to stay at home and do housework because, according to her, I’m good for nothing else, — replied the girl.
Hearing this, the man realized how hurt his daughter was and began to think about the real reason why his wife made a distinction between the children, but he couldn’t find an exact reason.
